Free Online Tuning Service

This service will “tune”, a mildly modified LT1 engine, using basic and fairly safe tuning techniques that I’ve learned.

It’s not really awesome, hand-tuning would work much better, but it’s as good as a really basic mail-order tune… for free!

This tool is currently being developed. It works, but some options are grayed out. Next time you come back, some of them will be working.

Also, this tool only generates F-Body bins!!

This does not touch automatic transmission tables or shift points, so results with an automatic transmission with a modified gear ratio may be mediocre.

If you have a cam larger than 230/230 duration, aftermarket or heavily ported heads, a 383 stroker, turbochargers, superchargers, nitrous, no maf sensor, no oxygen sensors, or want the 100% maximum performance your engine can offer, please contact a professional tuner, preferably a dyno tuner!

You must download my EEHack software or TunerCat’s WinFlash Demo (a 30 day free trial) to program your ECM with the bin file that you receive.

Follow the instructions that come with the software to use it, it’s very straightforward to use. I also recommend reading the existing bin file from your ecm using the software BEFORE you flash, so you can put it back in case something goes wrong.

If the bins from this service cause your car to run badly or you find some kind of bug, please feel free to let me know about it on the support forum and I’ll fix it if i feel like it, but i can’t really accept responsibility if something goes wrong.

Delete EGR
Delete AIR Pump This doesn’t hurt even on a stock engine.
Disable Skip Shift aka CAGS (Manual Trans Only)
Disable Traction Control

Delete EVAP aka Charcoal Canister Purge
Disable VATS Security System Fuel fix only, doesn’t solve VATS starter kill.

Changes in tire size can affect speedo calibration too, but it should be pretty close.

This is actually based on how far your oxygen sensors are from the stock location… so if you have special headers, choose based on o2 distance.

Warning: These should be used only on a known healthy engine, with a good fuel pump, good fuel filter, and all sensors working properly.

Ignition Timing
Warning: Some timing tables may be more aggressive than stock, and should only be used on a healthy engine with good quality fuel and a functional knock sensor.
Stock F-Body timing (safe for stock-like cams)
Slightly aggressive timing (for stock-like cams) (91+ Octane Recommended!)
More aggressive timing (for stock-like cams) (93+ Octane Recommended!)
Reduced timing for towing, or swapping an f-body LT1 into a fairly heavy vehicle
Safe timing for mild cams (such as comp 304 or lunati 262/270) to improve power and driveability
Safe timing for medium sized cams (such as the LT4 hot cam or cc305) to improve power and driveability

Stock F-Body Idle
Improved idle for mild cams
Rough lopey idle for mild cams
Improved idle for medium sized cams

Automatic Transmission
Stock torque converter (or manual transmission). Leave transmission tuning alone
Stock torque converter. Like a decent shift kit, improve shift firmness and raise shift points
Higher stall torque converter. Improve shift firmness, raise shift points.
